The first of many

To the north of the deadly Sea of Sand lies the small city of Windhelm. The city is of little consequence saving that is the last vestige of civilization before the Shadowsong Forest and Mount Helm. The town has always been a self-sustaining place with as close to peace as possible so near the untamed wilderness. But as of late, a darkness has fallen over the town. A man claiming to be the profit of a lost god has come to the town with prophecies that his god demands sacrifice of one-in-ten of the city's population. Failure to comply means destruction of the entire city. The city's head guard was blasted into nothingness by the prophet when he attempted to forcibly remove him from the town. As the time gets closer to the mentioned day people of the town have started vanishing, and not because they are packing up and leaving. Something sinister is afoot. The towns people have put out a cry for help and you have responded for whatever you reason be it righteous or evil.

OOC- Ok here it is, the first post. The FIRST thing you have is to either select or make your character (See the below post). The way it works after you have chosen your character is you now add a comment to do your move. It is not one post per move we will comment back and forth quite a bit before I put a new post up. DO NOT add a post. A new post signifies a new event in the game. Also use this first post to describe yourself to the other players, they know nothing about you or how you look or act. Speech is in Bold. Thoughts are in Italics. Make sure you have an avatar of what your character looks like, and that your user name is you characters name. If you want to ask me a question or say something that is not game play, put OOC at the beginning. OOC stands for Out Of Character. Below is a map of the city use it as your guide. I AM NOT AN ARTIST! Good Luck.

A brief description of the town as you enter it's gates and wander around:

The best description of the town of Windhelm is "weathered". The town is repeatedly buffeted by sand storms from the south and thunders storms from the north. The buildings (for the most part) are made of sturdy sandstone blocks and there is a vaguely Egyptian theme to the architecture. The streets are relatively busy, with a lot of merchant and traveler types wandering around. The watch travel in pairs or trios and can easily be identified by the scorpion tail patch located someplace on their clothing. There are also magical defenders, they can be identified by the staff made of solid jade that they carry. Many people seem nervous and anxious as the date of the offering approaches. Others are totally ignoring the prophet and going about business as normal.
